چکیده

In this work nuclei along N=Z line are of interest as transitions from spherical to deformed shapes are expected to occur when going across the medium mass region. In this respect a strong sudden shape transition between deformation is predicted to occur in the region N=Z as well as N>Z nuclei. New shell gaps are predicted using nucleon and two-nucleon separation energies and the shape evaluation are depicted by applying triaxially deformed cranked Nilsson Strutinsky calculations. Nucleon separation energy plays a major role in the prediction of new magicity in the proton and neutron drip line nuclei. c © Electronic Journal of Theoretical Physics. All rights reserved.

Superheavy nuclei in relativistic effective Lagrangian model

Isotopic and isotonic chains of superheavy nuclei are analyzed to search for spherical double shell closures beyond Z = 82 and N = 126 within the new effective field theory model of Furnstahl, Serot, and Tang for the relativistic nuclear many-body problem. We take into account several indicators to identify the occurrence of possible shell closures, such as two-nucleon separation energies, two-...

Shell Gaps in the Sn Isotopes

The exploration of nuclear shell structure is still a subject of great current interest, particularly in view of new information gathered by experiments with radioactive beams, see e.g. [1, 2]. A key feature are shell closures relative to the appearance of magic or semi-magic nuclei. A theoretical exploration of the proton shell closure in Pb isotopes was published in [3]. Here we want to prese...

Nuclear magic numbers: new features far from stability

The main purpose of the present manuscript is to review the structural evolution along the isotonic and isotopic chains around the ”traditional” magic numbers 8, 20, 28, 50, 82 and 126. The exotic regions of the chart of nuclides have been explored during the three last decades. Then the postulate of permanent magic numbers was definitely abandoned and the reason for these structural mutations ...

Ab Initio calculations of even oxygen isotopes with chiral two-plus-three-nucleon interactions.

We formulate the in-medium similarity renormalization group (IM-SRG) for open-shell nuclei using a multireference formalism based on a generalized Wick theorem introduced in quantum chemistry. The resulting multireference IM-SRG (MR-IM-SRG) is used to perform the first ab initio study of all even oxygen isotopes with chiral nucleon-nucleon and three-nucleon interactions, from the proton to the ...
